The Nature Effect is a catalyst for personal, professional and community transformation. We offer continuing professional
development and coaching to people and organisations in education and social change. We also offer retreats, weekend
workshops and on-going groups for people wanting to learn, grow, flourish, reflect and reconnect. We collaborate with
communities, schools and various peer groups.
Our ‘golden thread’ is explicit inspiration from the natural world – through nature metaphor, embodied
learning, time spent in the wilds, use of natural materials and creation of outdoor spaces and events.
We have a rich pool of associates skilled in these areas of work who are always cooking up new ideas, and we like to connect
them with like-minded colleagues, practical resources and methodological tools for effective working. We welcome contact
from potential new associates. We are largely based in Oxford City but our Associates work nationally and internationally.

Creative Nature Mindful Crafting
A group of associates want to set up a new kind of craft hub in East Oxford/Cowley. Following a successful lottery bid, we are piloting craft workshops to socially isoated groups, working with existing local groups and charities. Our aim is to teach traditional skills in a new way. We use materials that are ethically sourced and where we can tell the story about where they come from. We want people of all ages to be able to enjoy crafting - using beautiful materials, contemporary design, and having people and planet in mind. Look out for details and development on our Facebook Page or by subscribing to your newsletter.

“I am alarmed when it happens that I have walked a mile into the woods bodily without getting there in spirit.” Henry David Thoreau (Excursions 1863)
You are invited to a 4-day retreat for men and women into the wilderness beside Lyme Regis. Here we will be mindful of 4 essential considerations to bring us back to ourselves in the spirit of ‘vision quest’ – solo time at the edge of wood and sea. We will return at the end of each day to a beautiful home in Lyme Regis to share our enquiries through creativity, words and silence.
